Bobby reports that the ANI “cleanup contractors” are ringing around people invited to visit ANI site ( a select few) to see if it is OK to move the contaminated ANI stockpiles from inside the building to a location outside the building Read the rest of this entry »
Bobby back and on the job
November 26, 2006Bobbi acquitted and wins costs in Freo Court
August 8, 2006 Yesterday Bobby Wilson was charged in Fremantle Court as a result of Landcorp calling the police, wanting to cripple the Lead Vigil. She was acquitted of failing to give her name and obstructing the police.
Costs of over $3,000 were awarded to her.
Landcorp’s ( and no doubt Stocklands also) ongoing hassling of Lead Vigil by removal of signs and complaints to Fremantle City Council and the police receives another blow.
This is an important decision. It should discourage the police from getting involved in issues of community protest and attempting to issue moving on notices to stop community protest – and being the developer’s pawns.
Bobbi is a heroine for the coast and so thanks to the local family who backed her with a lawyer.
Closure of coastal bike path at ANI site
June 28, 2006This 20 June 2006 article from the Fremantle Gazette quotes local people objecting to the bike path closure.
My opinion is that Stockland would not wish to reopen the bike path in its old form. I think Colin Crook is right. Residents will need to boycott the new path and keep demanding from councils and Govt that the old path be re-opened.

Pending ANI clean-up by Stockland
April 21, 2006Starting in May we understand, Stockland are planning to excavate contamination from the ANI site and replace with clean fill, all in exposed windy conditions. We understand Thiess Environmental will be carrying out the work.
We have asked for the site to be covered which would add about $250,000 to costs.
Click here to read a Thiess report and see a picture of an Adelaide contaminated site they covered before excavating. Required in Adelaide, but not in South Beach.

tell the story of the 40 metres of cliff retreat since 1994.
At http://www.savesouthbeach.com/cliffs.html
two pdf reports are available for download, one sets out the aerial photo evidence for 40 metres retreat in ten years, the other discusses criteria of cliff retreat as observed in the cliff faces. The Govt seem determined not to understand.
